The Women of Grace are part of the LWML, an auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, organized to develop and to maintain a greater mission consciousness among the women of the Synod. Any woman who is a member of the congregation is eligible for membership in the unit. Meetings are usually held at Grace Lutheran Church, on the second Monday of the month. They begin at 10 am and are over by 12pm. There are no regular meetings in June, July, or August.
The Women of Grace strive to serve in mission work locally and through the LWML. We often have informative speakers, encourage attendance at LWML prayer services, rallies and conventions and participate in fellowship and devotions at meetings.
Some of the ministries and activities that support our congregation include providing Thanksgiving meals, sponsoring the Angel Tree, and assembling fruit baskets. Women of Grace also supports local organizations through monetary and item donations.
Women of Grace offers Mite Boxes to the members of Grace Lutheran Church. A mite box is used to collect loose change and is given to LWML to support national and international mission grants. |
Every Thursday from 9am to 12pm Women of Grace joyfully work making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, the VA, and Youth Villages (Foster Kids). On LWML Sunday you will see our work displayed in the sanctuary covering the pews. |
